All-In Seat Price (AISP)
The average monthly recurring revenue earned per supported user seat across all managed services clients.
Formula
Managed services MRR ÷ Supported user seats
Why Track It
AISP is the simplest check that pricing keeps pace with the services bundled into it. A flat AISP while the security stack grows means margin is leaking.
How It Is Measured
Divide total managed services MRR at month end by the number of supported user seats on those agreements. Include every recurring service billed to the client (support, security, backup) and exclude one-time and project revenue. Seat counts come from PSA agreement additions.
Constraints
Only comparable when seats are counted the same way. MSPs that price per device need a device-based equivalent. Client size and vertical move it without any change in pricing discipline.
Measurement Note
TruMethods puts average MSPs at $100 per seat per month or less, best-in-class MSPs at $100 to $110 and world-class MSPs at $120 to $160. The danger line is the average MSP ceiling of $100.
